About Us
Cole attended Western Colorado University and has lived in the Gunnison valley for 10 years now. He is passionate about rock climbing, biking, camping, and of course radio controlled cars. Cole built this business with the desire to create community without alcohol or intense exercise involved. He hopes that teens, students, adults, and seniors can use this space as an alternative way to utilize healthy outlets while socializing.
Mel has lived in the Gunnison Valley for five years now. She loves rock climbing, crafts, running, and socializing. Beyond Throttle and Thread , she works for Gunnison Valley Hospital as a mobile crisis clinician, and has a mental health therapy practice for kids, teens, and families. Through her work, she has listened to countless people express the same frustration of lacking productive ways to connect with the community and was ready to take action!
We met each other on a rock climbing trip to Indian Creek, Utah, and the rest is history. Cole comes with an obsession of radio controlled cars, an entrepreneur mindset, and fearlessness. Mel brings the extroverted, community-oriented passion and the ability to utilize social media. As we grow Throttle and Thread, we truly hope to build more friendships, connect with a broader range of people in the community, create a safe space for those who long for one, and have fun. We are nervous, uncertain, excited, and ready to go! See you there!
